Concrete Canvas Ltd manufactures four award-winning products based on its core material technology; they are a new, innovative class of materials called GCCM’s – Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mats. GCCMs are flexible, concrete-filled geotextiles that harden on hydration to form thin, durable, waterproof and lower carbon concrete layers. Essentially, it’s concrete on a roll™. Developed initially to construct the award-winning Concrete Canvas Shelters®, the speed and ease with which Concrete Canvas® (CC) can be installed make it more cost-effective than conventional solutions. Up to 200m² of CC can be supplied on a single pallet, replacing two 17-ton ready-mix lorries – significantly reducing the logistics and environmental impact of construction work while reducing contractor burden of civil projects.
CC Hydro™ – a Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Barrier (GCCB) – is a revolutionary containment product, combining the company’s concrete geotextile technology with a chemically resistant geomembrane backing, removing the need for concrete, soil or aggregate top cover, typically required with conventional liner systems.
Recently CCX™ has been launched. Explicitly developed for canal lining and to remediate bulk water infrastructure. CCX™ significantly reduces water loss in canals, waterways & hydroelectric channel lining.
All products are manufactured at the company’s headquarters, near Cardiff, and exported to 80+ countries. CC products have gained market acceptance as a cost-effective alternative to conventional concrete in various applications, from channel lining to weed suppression. Customers include nine of the ten largest oil companies in the world, Network Rail, the EA & British Armed Forces.
