David Kelly has been the Director of the Southern Regional Assembly since 2018. As one
of three Regional Assemblies in Ireland, it has responsibility to accelerate and support
effective regional development through EU funding programmes and regional spatial
and economic planning.
Prior to this David held the post of Assistant Director at the Assembly and Head of the ERDF Regional Programmes. He has over 25 years’ experience in regional development and in managing EU funded programmes, including Interreg and four ERDF Regional Programmes. David also oversees the development and implementation of the Regional Spatial & Economic Strategy for the Southern Region.
He has a background in Rural Development and is an Agricultural Science Graduate from University College Dublin.
